I've managed to replicate the trick (but not the score). It seems all you need to do is apply the same action as if you were throwing it - grab, drag, release.
MARSK really missed a great opportunity there to bag himself a record. Maybe next time he'll think twice before revealing a new trick.
EDIT: Got the score now. Sometimes the island shoots out in a way which avoids the end trigger.
I was trying to get 37+ balls in Tumbler recently and finnaly really got it on 01/19/2016 by using an auto-clicker and didn't record a video. At least this shows that it's possible to get 37+ balls in Tumbler, although it won't be a new record.
