@naveed, how could you skip the movie after you finished Observatory Observation Station in 31 seconds?

Because I changed the folder name of res\movie\Chapter5End and res\movie\credits. I wouldn't really do it as peter said it would be changing the files of the game.

He means that it took 'bout 27s for the whole island to fly up in naveed's 31s vid, but took 'bout 29s in LWR's 33s vid. And LWR said he attached the flying fishes assuredly 'bout 0.8s faster than naveed. Who knows why?

Can I start to break records? I changed all the level to 999s.

@Peter B, I'm wondering if a player is allowed to set records by playing World Of Goo which has resolution of 640*480?

Is it even possible to play in that res? I cant. Why would anyone choose it anyway. Is there an underlying reason for asking?

Maybe it's because of graphic card you're using or the version of the game.
Using this res can cause someone much quicker to click continue if they are breaking time records, because the continue button will be larger and the distance of mouse movement will be shorter.

I've never seen the game in that res so I cant really comment on it. Could you link me to a vid showing it?

I don't remember if I ever accomplished anything significant in 640*480, but I know that I made my top 10 tower (and the shorter twin, of which a video is in my signature) in either 640*480 or 800*600, playing in full screen. The video of the shorter twin's construction is an odd resolution and down-scaled with black padding, so I don't know which it actually was.

From what I can see, 640*480 has no advantage at all. The only size difference is the on screen text/buttons and the side tank; the handle isn't bigger.

The distance of mouse movement will be shorter to click continue if using 640*480.

Is this is like playing in windows mode? If so it would take the same time to complete a level as the mouse would move slower even though it seems it moves fast due to the screen resolution.

So we're talking about cursor speed relative to mouse movement. You cant really regulate that kind of thing; everyone will have different mouse settings/game res. Skill will always prevail in the end.

Turns out it was 800*600 I used, apparently 640x480 is not a compatible resolution on my computer.

I think that there is one way, and only one way, that you might be able to appear on the boards - though you would need to do it for every single score you try to claim. You would need to record, side-by-side (and maybe even live-stream it too, for good measure) both the entire screen of your computer as you play the game, and ALSO a view of any inputs to the computer that you are using. I can't guarantee that this would be accepted, but barring an in-person visit it's the only way. And it must be noted that doing this will almost certainly make your game lag. I often don't record my tower builds because my laptop has a hard time running the game and the capture software simultaneously.

Of course, the final decision on the WOGfan leaderboards still rests with Peter B, so if he decides not to accept it then there really is nothing else which can be done.
