You mean that it's Italian for Hell? True, but the English has a different meaning, usually just a huge fire or a conflagration.

Sorry, I totally don't understand what the problem is. I'm Christian, and I didn't find anything about this contest or this game offensive (In fact, I'm the dude who set up the contest in the first place). I'm having a bit of trouble following here. :/

Lysy Jan was thinking that Little Inferno(in italian inferno means hell) is a bad game. He thought that its bad to use this word in this manner. AP told him/her that inferno in english means a big fire(or something like that) and not hell.

Do not be scared me so)) I just hope that from a Christian point of view, this game will be limited by age 0+)) I would not want to spoil upbringing of children by the game. For example, in "World of GOO" there is no reason to worry, here one reason I'm see already))
So I just call to responsibility and principled (I'm not arguing, perhaps my worry unreasonable).

Well, the game is rated T for Teen, so I would recommend exercising caution. There are some mild drug/alcohol references, but in my opinion it's a family-friendly game.

And honestly I think the game doesn't lose anything without the drug references. If they wanted a lower rating they could easily change the name of...the thing...in the...second catalog...and it wouldn't change much.

"Inferno" does not mean "Hell." It can be used that way, but more commonly it's used to describe a conflagration. It's the Italian word for "Hell," but not the English word. Every instance I've ever heard the word "Inferno" used in my life, it was never referring to Hell. Stop beating a dead straw man argument.

Well, it seems "some" of us are stuck on a literal interpretation of the word, when it is the context which alters the meaning. Two examples: The movie "Towering Inferno" and the song " Disco Inferno". While one could argue that the raging fire in the movie was hot as Hades, and for some, the era of disco music was a personal hell, neither was referring to Lucifer's playground. It's like insisting that if I say, "I love pizza," then I must desire an intimate relationship with Italian pie. Ridiculous. Next topic please, for Heaven's sake! (Yes, pun fully intended. I couldn't resist.)

Honestly, the last post in the argument was almost a year ago. And QuixoticRepose, I don't think I've ever heard the word Inferno used in an English context to mean hell (the one exception is the Divine Comedy, but it's only because the titles are traditionally untranslated from Italian). It's almost exclusively used metaphorically to refer to a large fire.

Since when does Little Inferno have levels? All you do there is burn stuff, which you get more points and money to get more stuff to burn. Seems lame to me, all thought the story is good
