WOG Editor is a level editor for the great puzzle game World of Goo. With WOG Editor, you can create new levels or tweak existing ones. It also integrates with World of Goo, allowing you to test the level you are editing by a simple button click.

What about a linux version or how can I start the editor with Linux? Since python is cross-platform, the wog-editor should be portable to Linux, right? But the setup.py complains about a missing py2exe lib, because you needn't compile a python script, but run it from scratch.
Could you please tell me how you start it without compiling it?

Well, it starts with Linux having the additional libs installed you mentioned in your README, but I can't see any properties of any element mentioned in the list if I open a level.
I can select the WorldOfGoo-executeable, after editing your source-code a bit.
It also gives me a Segfault if I try to create a new level.
I hope, you will make it useable for us Linux-users.

zark92, the maker of WOGedit, seems to be vanished,
but davidc (owner of this site) is working on a new, less buggy, more comfy level editor. and i would be surprised if it's not a multiplatform one.^^

you should have a folder that wogeditor is working in
if you navigate to /res/levels/ you should find a folder with your files in an encrypted format
use gootool to decrypt them (Advanced->Decrypt->whatever)
then use the addin file format to create a goomod file
you can use a zip file to start and rename it to .goomod and then put you decrypted files in it
you can also look at other .goomods to see how other people did it

its alot easier if you start with a pre made level and edit it. im editing drool so you have to wake everything up with a "bit" goo

that can lead to stupid mistakes like forgetting to change the ocd and it may also have some errors that can creep into old archives
i always create a fresh file but its really your opinion on whether you want to
the contents are really not that hard to create yourself if you follow the addin file format
btw, Bulzurco96, are you talking to me or the creator of WOG Editor?

That is one of the most complicated things I've ever seen in my entire life! I've surfed the HOLE internet for finding a tutorial but there was NOT ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT EVEN A LINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please make a Easy video tutorial to WoG Editer that is so easy that a baby can do... Thank you.

are there required python files that have to be installed for it to work? because it works in one computer i use but not another the wiki said to download a zip file, but all but one of the files say that it is missing a l file when i ope them. plz help

I did that, it shows a blank cmd for like 2 seconds, then it shows some text and almost imediatly closes. do I need to install something else first?

yeah ive got a macbook pro and i would really like to make my own levels
Edit: I could just run windows on my mac with a windows emulator, but I haven't been able to get any open source one to work.

When I first pull up the editor, all the buttons are grey, except for the left-most one: a light blue folder. I easily know how to find World of Goo from the desktop, but when I search for it in the editor's directory by clicking on the blue folder, I can't find it! Where do I find WorldOfGoo.exe?!
Questions:
1. Do I need to download Version 1.3 of WoG to work?
2. How do I find WorldOfGoo.exe?

I've got the same problem as MethanalCHO. I found the WoG folder, but there isn't anything, what can help me. Maybe someone from all users knows what to do?

there is a fancy piece of software named crossover games that might just be able to run this. however, you will need a windows version of the game too.

Enchanter49, that usually indicates that you have a structural element in your level which is neither static, nor has a mass. Every single structural element has to either be static or have a mass.
For elements inside a compositegeom it's enough if the parent has one of those two properties, of course. Don't know what happens if you have e.g. a compositegeom with a mass and a child element with static="true". This might be not such a good idea.

The one level is the Goonation problem (from your tutorial) and the 2 that turned into a different level were working PERFECTLY!!!
the edit, however, pics and music don't use static.

The levels I finished earlier (the ones that turned into my other levels) DID IT AGAIN!!! AND I LOST ALL OF THE PROGRESS I DID ON THERE!!! I EVEN MADE IT BETTER AND IT TOOK ME THE ENTIRE DAY TO FINISH!!! SOMEBODY PLEASE SOLVE MY PROBLEM!!!

When making this, nitrozark didn't go through the time to port it. You can download the source code on SourceForge though. After downloading it, you SHOULD be able to open it as a preview on mac (with Python).

Unpack/unzip it anywhere you want and just run wogeditor.exe
