2Djoy: the kind we get when we play World of goo so much. Smile

Yep, "2DFans presents..." is the best i've heard so far. Besides, being fans of a 2Dboy game also makes us 2DFans, not just GooFans.

I'm playing Minecraft. My username is theMineMaster2. If you want to see my Cartoony mods updated, then be a Mac user and find a image editing program that isn't confusing for me Smile

You know. My honest opinion is that we should just keep it "2DBOY presents" and just change the actual gameplay. This is a mod, not a sequel. We don't need to change all the authors and related. That stuff should stay the same.

Another thing, I think we need to stop occupying goofans and go back to a seperate site. I'll work on a new one using the same engine as goo2forums and so you all will still be able to login with your old information. The original idea was to keep things private until we actually upload something online. I'm not sure why everyone moved over to goofans . . .

Well, we wanted to discuss with you, but you were cowering in the corner after you found out about the legal issues. Wink Besides, no one but the members can view it.

I wasn't "cowering in the corner". I just found out about the legal issues from Ron Carmel a few days ago and have been ever so active since. The only reason I hadn't gone online for you guys that often was because I really had more to look into in life than doing nerdy things on the computer. But, once a nerd, always a nerd, I guess.

Okay. Back to business. I'm back and my opinion counts. Before, I still replied to everyone's emails. Why didn't you email me then? Too late. I gave my opinion.

Anyway, there are going to be a few changes. First, everyone please stop using goofan's public forums and go to our new website. I'll have it up and running as soon as we come up with a new group name. Goo2team doesn't seem appropriate, so . . . how about we do something like: "World of Goo Expansions Club" or "World of Goo Expander Team" or something related.

I'll be checking goofans much more often now. It almost seems like I was a figurehead (for those of you who know Japanese history) before, with the administrators (Martin33 and James) controlling the project. I would like to take my place as head again, if you would allow it.

I want very much to partake in this project again.

I allow it, and further more, I can understand that we all have other things to do than be nerdy on the computer. (DOO DEE DOO DEE!) You could have at least participated with the important stuff and have a say whether we could move goo2 to goofans. Smile

Hello Enchanter.

To my point of view, once you noticed there were legal issues (perhaps because I put it in broad daylight), you went away. No news from you. Ok you may have been busy IRL but it's still a strange coincidence. So we had to make decisions for the future of the project, and firstly, we moved the forums to goofans.

Glad to see you back. Your opinion counts, yes, but your opinion counts just as much as others, neither more nor less.

Hmm... well, no. Don't take it bad but I don't plan to go back to another site. I think it's a bad idea and here is my reason :

1- Your website URL is still http://worldofgoo2.co.nr and you know that too, there is a problem this title (legal issues).

2- We moved to goofans.com not only because you left the project, but because goofans.com is the central place of wog modding. And we all agreed to move to Goofans.

3- We can upload goomod files as ordinary levels but without publishing them if we want to, this way we can keep levels private. But there's also the Web File Manager, see #4 below.

4- because davidc allows us to upload files to a private FTP (the Web File Manager)
We can now upload and share levels, mockup images, music files easily. Thank you David Smile

5- because it has 2 sub-forums categories, one for the public ideas, the other for our private works in progress. And that was a decision of ours.

And we already have a group name. It is 2DFANS. We all adopted qwsx's idea.

But it's true that we still have no title for the project yet.
But, we recently did a brainstorming: http://goofans.com/forum/fan-expansion/private-discussion/1696

We would be glad to see you back and partake in this project again. Sorry but even if the idea of this project was yours, to my point of view, there is no leader anymore. We are now a community project, working all together. It's a democratic project. Noone takes decisions for the project alone.

I guess you don't know exactly the recent news from the project because you have been busy, away from the project for a while. As soon as Davidc gives you access to the private forums (if it's not already done), you'll discover what we plan to do for the game.

Sneak peek : The final storyline for the project has been chosen, we know how many islands/chapters there will be, what the screen menu will look like (sort of, it's still a mockup image at the moment).

It would be cool if you joined us on the Webchat, because most of our decisions are taken, in the chatroom. And we are often connected so.. we would love to see you there too.

But glad to see you back, Enchanter Smile

Wait... why would we want a new forum when we already have everything here on goofans? Not to complain, but the old forum was terrible in comparison. I think we should just work off of here, although we definitely need a new site other than worldofgoo2.co.nr for our "publicity" side of things.

And I think you can just ask Mr. Croft for access to the new forums here.

^^ And I agree with everything xanax said there.

How about, "The Gooites present"?

AKA "Goobomber" practically everything else

But davidc thinks we shouldn't post Goovie addins while GooTool doesn't supports it.

No. It supports only cutscene parameter, not Goovie encryption. I can't put .movie.xml file into compile in goomod.

No, but the encoding (they're not encrypted) is the same on all systems except 64-bit Linux, and that uses a different filename, so if you put both binltl and binltl64 in the override it will work.

Yeah, it will work, but davidc says we should be patient till GooTool 1.1.0 comes out so we can put binltl and binltl64 in compile dir.

But why would that be any better than override? A new version of GooVIE might change the XML format (seeing as it isn't set by the game), so then GooTool would have to be rewritten again!
