If you email the addin to davidc, he can upload it for you. His address is davidc at this domain. Of course, if your email client has a limit on the file size, that'll be a problem there, too. Wink

"davidc at this domain" means davidc(at)goofans.com.

I lol'd. Who said anything about iPods?

I got it working.
The iPhone version is better for some reason. I decomposed everything and replaced it ALL. Well, it KINDA worked. Sorta kinda slightly maybe.
I may need to fix the bugged files.
WoG for computer is made different to the other ones on iPod and iPad.
And, I think I figured out how to make more Chapter buttons.

What... where did you come from?

And what's your theory on making more Chapter buttons? I'm intrigued...

"LuvsEmelia" you're online again?

I always thought just adding a button to MapWorldView and creating a new island_.xml file would do it, until people told me otherwise.

If you did, TM, you are a genius.

You may still be a genius anyway for porting the files over, too. Smile

As I thought.
I'm right; it's made differently.

I may need to decompile...

brb.

Okay.

The thing is. WoG on PC (and Mac, I think) has a set amount of Chapters. Same does the one on iPod/iPhone.
If I find the line of code, I can make a patch.exe to replace it with one that allows, I dunno, 10 Chapters?

I also found out how to put mods (like my World) in WoG iPod/iPhone.
World of Goo: The Other Side IS NOW GOING MOBILE!!

*additional*

I might send an email to Kyle G to ask if I can publish World of Goo: The Other Side to the AppStore.

(I doubt he'd say yes.)

Wow! 4 replies! Isn't there a rule about that or something? Tongue

Wait, so he's allowed to edit the exe and I'm not!?

(Do you have an Apple Developer Account? It requires you have a copy of Mac OS X Snow Leopard as well as $99/year for the publishing rights, not to mention knowledge of the programming language, Objective-C)

He probably just doesn't know editing the .exe is illegal either. It's a real shame though, maybe we can ask Ron and/or Kyle to make a patch that allows more chapters?

And knowledge of Objective-C isn't necessarily required for iOS apps. One alternative is using Flash CS5, you can just use ActionScript 3 and publish for iPhone.

(By the way, Taco, you really should have edited instead of making new posts.)

@puggsoy, yeah, I was. Sorry, I forgot.

I did know about the whole legal/illegal stuff.
I was just saying. Wink

I also think I found the line (lines) of code that defy how many chapters.
Well, if doesn't work, all of that will just be a waste of time.
Anyway. How you all going?
Goofans doesnt seen like it has changed much.
Seriously, this site needs a make-over. It's too... Bland.

This should be The Biggest and Best World of Goo Fans site EVER!
I look at it and well, yeah, not so appealing.
Could I make some suggestions? At all? Am I the only one thinking this?

I think GooFans is pretty acceptable. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a bit of a pep-up on the forums. Y'know, new graphics and maybe a PM system.

Other than that, GooFans is awesome. Don't want to make it too bandwith hungry, dial-up users still exist.

A couple of things: (for tacomann)

You don't recognize me? (even though my name and avatar have changed?) What a good friend you are!

Flash CS5 is no longer supported by Apple. You can technically still build with it but honestly, do you have any idea how hard it is to publish to the App Store? You still have to pay the fee and apply.

Honestly, I think the site looks great. The simple and all-too-familiar graphics give a great feel for the forums and downloads.

We should definitely ask Ron to make us a patch. He might even do it.

Yeah, but my point was that you can do it with other languages.

Interesting fact: I was Googling today and found that it's possible (if you know how) to make iOS (or at least iPhone) apps without Flash. With FlashDevelop and the Flex SDK 4.5.1 (and I think a small user-made .bat) you can make a working app, although you still need an Apple Developer Account for the certificates and stuff.
