How do I add my own sounds to my gooballs?

Hi there. I was just wondering about how to add to my rabbid goos the sounds that the bunnies do. How could I put the rabbid sounds instead of the glees and that sound stuff?
Thank you.

Do a find and replace for SOUND_BALL_GENERIC_GLEE01 -> SOUND_BALL_RABBID01, et cetera, in balls.xml.bin.

Now put the sound files in res/balls/Rabbid.

Add these lines to resrc.xml.bin:

<SetDefaults idprefix="SOUND_BALL_RABBID" dir="/res/balls/Rabbid" />
<Sound id="01" path="glee1" />
<Sound id="02" path="glee2" /> (and so on)

Compile and you're goo-d to go

(I might have made some mistakes with the SetDefaults, I'll check)

And how do I replace for SOUND_BALL_GENERIC_GLEE01 -> SOUND_BALL_RABBID01 in balls.xml.bin.
It's because I searched for it and I opened the one of my balls and it opened in Internet Explorer as a xml file.

Ah. Download Default Programs Editor for Windows, and reassign .XML to notepad or something. That will make it editable.

Nononononono. That'll break WooGLE's ability to encrypt .xml files.
Right click on them and choose Open With->Notepad (or whatever text editor is your personal favorite)

Ok, I opened the balls.xml file in the notepad, but do I only have to replace the sounds and that's it or do I have first to have them as .ogg files in a folder?

The sounds have to actually be .ogg. I don't think it'll work with any other file formats (Like just renaming .wav wouldn't work, I think, but you could try). You'll need to add the OGG Vorbis sounds into the balls' folder (I think you can just add resources in WooBLE, right?)

I'm not sure, I put my sounds In .ogg vorbis with Audacity; but, just asking, do I add the sounds into my rabbid ball's folder or do I do it after replacing the glees and that stuff?
P.S. What would be the minel, maxlen 1 &2 and thickness for the spring if the gooball's mass is of 30? Just asking (again).

It's not important in which order you do the three points AP described before. Just don't make any typing errors. Wink
But why don't you use WooBLE to do that? It's much easier: just put your sounds in the rabbid folder, click update resources and change the sounds.

edit: The mass of a ball has nothing to do with minlen, maxlen etc. of its strands. Just choose how long you want them to be.

I was asking that because when I first tested my ball, the strands didn't support the ball and they collapsed the structure. How could I avoid that?

some questions:
1.Which strand type do you use?
2.What are the springconstmax and springconstmin values?
3. just to satisfy my curiosity. What are the minlen, maxlen 1&2 values?

Joined: 11/27/2010

1. I use springs.
2. They are 9, in both.
3. minlen: 100, maxlen1: 200, maxlen2: 140

I used the strand of the bone goo because I'm in a process to learn how to create my own strands.
:/Edit: I've finished my strands.

So they are not collapsing anymore?
Which changes do you made?

What I mean is that I modified them in Paint.NET, but they still collapse, but I added to the strans the dampfac and maxforce of the springs of the common goos. But when I tested the gooball in the test chamber, the level stopped and it didn't advance.
HELP!!

Are you using WooBLE?
If so, are there any error masseges?
Did you change anything else in ball.xml?
Maybe you could come on web chat, it would be easier to help there.

I only changed the glees and sound stuff, but WooBLE only doesn't let me test my goos.
What should I do?

Maybe it's something wrong with the resources.
If you give me a copy of your ball, I will look at it tomorrow. For now I'm tired and almost fall asleep. Tired

Compile means convert it from an xml to a bin. You can use GooTool to do that.

Albino Pokey, do you know in which folder do I have to save the .xml file converted into a .bin file?

Ok, I will.
Hope I didn't make any mistake in the ball while using WooBLE or while editing the .xml files. Thank you.
