I know this may have already been asked... but does anybody have a clue of when Gootool may be avaliable for iPad?

(if it matters, yes, my iPad is jailbroken)

I think David quit production on this a while ago, but it may come eventually.

You should be able to install mods manually if it's jailbroken though.

Well sure, but that would suck. Especially the merging and compiling.

iPad files are uncompiled. Raw extensionless xmls.

Yeah, I don't think you would need to compile xmls when most players won't even see them!

Oh, well that's OK then. But still, .xsls that you find in goomods would be a pain to install manually.

well... my iPad IS jailbroken... but how exactly can I add mods?

Get the files from the goomod file, and put them into the goo directory yourself.

Open it with WinRAR, or whatever you open zips with.

Probably 7-zip.

Then go into the override folder, take those files, and stick them in World of Goo on the iPad. Then go into compile, delete the extensions, and copy them over as well.

If there's a merge, that's harder.

Once you have those copied, you need to edit island1 to add the new button. That's the hardest part, I'm looking to see if there's an easier way.

Hello again! Sorry for being so persistent but... can some body tell me again step by step (with the tools needed) how to make a custom level playable on the iPad version of World of Goo (if it's actually possible)? Thanks in advance, it means so much!

PS: AB, so... did you find an easier way till now?

PS: I know I probably need to SSH so I at least know that...

1. Download a "basic" goomod file off this site. (only ones that override files)
2. Open it as a zip. (using winRAR or winZIP)
3. Go into the "override" directory and copy everything from there into your WoG installation on the iPad.

Are you sure that won't BLEEP up my WoG installation on the iPad?

Please don't be so blunt with curse words.

And that's only if you really want to install mods. Else, just play it on PC.

It may or may not bleep up your install. If it does, you can always reinstall, or make a backup beforehand if you're concerned.

Well... I guess I'll just wait for GooTool... If it ever comes out...

Even when/if it does, you should probably make a backup, or pretty much be prepared for it to bleep your install. No program is perfect, and I expect an iOS version of GooTool has a fair chance of making some mistakes.

I believe if gootool ever comes out on iPad, it WILL create a backup folder, just like on PC...

For PC, you wouldn't need a backup folder, as GooTool never modifies your original installation. Instead, it creates a new directory based on your settings.

Well, yeah, that's what I meant sorry. Tongue
