Wow nice tip. (I am not Gooballs of Fire but I like the tip!).
Gooballs of fire, I do not think that the blue danube waltz will make a good music. Why not reuse the original game soundtrack? They are far more epic than blue danube waltz.
The world of goo. The goey goo. The cute round goey goey goo.
Okay... Interesting advice... I will keep that in mind. but just wondering why you can't download levels? This game will be in the standard goomod format for downloading levels/mods when it is finished so if something is wrong with you being able to get those to work on your computer maybe everyone else on the site could help!
For those wondering, Earth of Goo is still being worked on, but not as often. It will be finished! Check out my website/YouTube @ScarletFury!
Well AllthingsGoey, I probably will still use the original soundtrack becasue it is more epic, however I am also composing my own music and soundtrack for the game which will add even more intensity and epic-ness (New word! Lol)to the game. But I am also trying to think of something famous that everyone recognizes because there will be levels in Veinna, Austria where waltzes are famous... I think but the Blue Danube will fit with that or something like that... keep suggesting things for this because the more opinions I have the better I can make it!!

Well... I have to admit I love the far lands music but like I said earlier: someone who used that music didn't know that it was writtend by the composer vangellis for the movie alexander (about alexander the great) and on wikipedia it says that those songs are off of HIS ALBUMS!! So in other words unless he rally modified that music from it's original format, it's copyrighted and I'm trying to avoid using copyrighted music which is why I'm mostly writing my own but don't worry it's just as epic and has voices and choral and percussion and everything!

Well... It is still a long way off because my parents limit the time me and my friend can work on it each day, but it should be done... about... sometime in december maybe? It's really vauge right now especailly since this game has so many levels!

The third dimension is 3D actually, if you are in the third dimension, then it is definitely 3D (Three Dimensional). Basically two dimensions is X and Y, saying the third dimension is coming suggests that a Z axe will be added, therefore, it will be 3D: Three dimensions: X, Y and Z.
I would suggest calling it something like "goo in the real world" or "goo in our world".
@AP: I don't understand. Why do they have X and Z at the moment and not Y? On the standard Cartesian coordinate system (And according to screen graphics), they have X and Y right now, right?
Though I suppose technically they have X, Y, and Z at the moment because of the depth attribute in the scenelayers. I would imagine that they have the scenelayers set up as billboards in a 3D area, with the depth determining the distance from the billboards to the camera. At least that's how I've always imagined they had it set up.
If you have X and Y, it's normally like a piece of paper lying on the ground, right? Length and width? (Minecraft uses Y for height, but that's non-standard)
But they don't have length. They have height. That's why Goo Balls fall down.
With X and Y, it would be something like the original Legend of Zelda game, where you're seeing it from above on a 2D plane.
Another Planet finally has an official release! Download chapters 1 through 3 here! Thank you for waiting so long while I kept starting over.
Yeah, in Blender and most 3D modeling applications, also.
Though that does bring up a good point. One 3D application I've used did have Y as the vertical axis. Made it fun importing/exporting meshes from Blender to there.
Mathematically "X" and "Y" are in ONE dimension , but when we put "Z" is dimensions
If blender do something similar is not a universal law that blender stablished.
Is not really necesary to assign a determined name to a axis("Z" could be named "B")the difference are the NUMBER of axis NOT the NAME of the axis
X
Y
Z
are in three planes
And that`s all.
UPDATE:I Swap for a moment plane and dimension meanings , Oops!

That's kind of harsh, but I must agree, if you say "3D" then "3D" it must be, and not realistic.

Also include some of the cool music from Far Lands, if possible

Gooballs of fire, do you have a aproximated time of your release about this game?
Hey You!

There was no reason to rush then, I'm working on stuff sometimes but I don't mention it 6 months before!!!

Oops...well I did want people to know... sorry if it makes you anticipate or impatient! :-[

i have an idea!
you could call it world of goo: across the 2nd dimension!!
-_-
Hey that's goo-d! I'll ask my friend about it and we'll change it if nessesary to that name becaue of all the confusion!

The title is fine. It may be confusing, but it does not mean it is "3D".
This '3rd Dimension' is to turn images into objects where possible. 3 dimensional means the "3D" that people are confused about.
So, if you wrap your head around this theme, you can make it look like there are "3D" objects, when there are not...
...hmmmmm...
Oh I can't download goo levels because I don't have World of Goo on a computer yet. My last computer is dead.

I know the name! "the sticky 3d adventure"!
Or "Wog 3D"
Or "goo in the 3d highway"
Or " goo around the z axis"
Hey You!

That's why it's called "Product Z", by the way. Although it should be Y - they already have X and Z.

doesn't world of goo use a 3d accelerator or some thing?
-_-

In graphics programming, however, X and Y are used to refer to screen position, no matter if it's top-down or sidescrolling.

I mean in the cutscenes, you can see the people in the world can see X and Z.
And Y, if the planet is small enough to detect the curvature.

Mincraft is standard! Y is always the vertical axis (at least it is to me).

Hmm, strange. I've always seen Y as the vertical axis in 2D games, and Z as the vertical axis in 3D games. Nevermind, then.

I think in blender the Z axis is the vertical axis, not always clear but whatever!

Aren't X and Y in one plane => 2 dimensions?
