Hi All~

Newbie here. I've just started enjoying the game with my 5 year old son on my iPad.
Was curious about what the happy goo balls say... Something like "enako" ... sounds Japanese. Can't find any discussion of this anywhere. Thanks...

There wasn't noone brave to ask this question... :bigsime:

PS. I don't know if it means something. It's unknown goo language I think.

I believe they said: YAMAKO! Tongue

If you slow them down, most of the sounds are actually just Kyle, Ron, and (maybe) a few others saying sounds that make no sense. Wink If you look at the original Tower Of Goo release and slow down some of those sounds, they are cuss words. (don't tell your son that! Tongue ) These words were removed before World Of Goo was released, but the original ones that sound like jibberish stayed. Wink

Hope this clears some stuff up

It just some random funny words, I don't think it means anything Wink

I also think they say yamako, when I began playing WOG, I thought they said chamaco, or kemaco, or something like that.

This 'yamako word' is the glee4 in the _generic folder, located in the balls folder; the gooballs make those glee sounds when they are building into the pipe, or when they enter the pipe.

I think it's Yamako. (look at my signature)

If you are playing Jingle Balls, the Goo Balls have new sounds too! One sounds a bit like "Happy Birthday," I don't know if that was intentional though. Smile

Yeah, in Jingle Balls they sound like Nueh, Einiche and Sakoseku, or something like that; those are the tree new sounds.

The Jingle Balls are saying "Weihnachten" (German for Christmas), "Noel" and "Chapter Six!".

Unless I am deeply mistaken, I do recall this discussion a while ago either on these forums or the 2DBoy ones. I think it got carried away into fun and speculative translations, such as mentioned a couple posts above this one!
On that same note, but not as in sound or words, I myself have a firm belief the GooBalls DO actually try and tell us something! I've been working on trying to gather evidence to my theory for a while now!
Watch these forums for my release of this 'dictionary' sometime in the future!
Cool

Try slowing down or reversing them in Audacity. That helps

Same as a lot of programs. He was just suggesting Audacity since it's free and easy-to-use.

I exported the whole loop library. According to the license, you can use any of the loops for free without credit for a commercial program or anything! The only thing you CAN'T do is distribute them as a loops library. I'm using the Dogma song as the music for the level Meteor Shower.

Yeah, personally I prefer Mixcraft and Audacity, but Garageband isn't a bad tool, except for its restriction.

Audacity is the best audio tool I've downloaded, I love the tool of changing the pitch and you can also export the audio to mp3, wav, ogg and more; I used Audacity for the music in my "Jelly!!" level, see the 2nd screenshot.

Tatami...
I'll check right now.

It's checked, actually, it's "japari", not "tatami", it's strange, but sounds like a chipmunk saying "japanese".

Um, yes, those are kinda the files we are talking about already.
And those are only some of the sounds. There's the mumble ones too, for example.

The mumble ones aren't translateable into Japanese. Smile

And the death ones are all the same. "GAK!"
