just a few suggestions for goofans

hey i was thinking you guys know
how a lot of other forums have their own private
messaging system
well you guys should
i do not mean another gmail
i mean so you can only send stuff to other goofans
this would probaly make a lot
less off topic posts on the forums
and this is my last idea how about a bar at
the bottom of the goofans site saying
who is online at the current moment.
I think that both of your suggestions are pretty good, bf4. A private messaging feature would be handy, then people can also give emails and stuff to people they only want to, instead of the whole forum.
I also think that seeing everybody who's online is good. I mean, OK, you can see if someone's online when you see a post of theirs, but if you just want to see all the people online at that time, you can just glance at the bottom of the page.
Let's see what the mods think!

you guys should have a fan art section!
a goo ball smiley!
some music playing while viewing your site!
a resources section!
any ways i will tell you more about the resource section idea!
a section were people post resources for others to use
with no catch and full approval!
moderators if you are reading this
please also read the first post because my best ideas for your site
are in that post.
thanks for reading!

Yeah, private massaging would be cool.
We have a fan-art section: http://goofans.com/world-of-goo/fan-art
and we have a resources section but it can only be used by a moderator or "notWoG2" development team

I have a little comment to make.
Music into the site would be quite cool, but for people who aren't listening for one reason or another would just be wasting their bandwidth. Also, people who have dial-up or simply slow internet would also have troubles. This website is already image-filled.

Since all the other stuff instead of this is covered:
Gooball smiley? What's wrong with the one we already have? I bet it would look like Pavke, if anything.
InfernoFans | Chest full of porkchops
puggsoy well if they put music p[laying on the site there would be like a button or way too turn it off.
answering james: i like goos
and thank you pavke for looking at my ideas.
are you moderators going to use any of them?

There's already a very glitchy version of the Who's Online bar, but it's on the right side of the screen and is moderators-only.

When the button next to someones name turns green, it means they're online, so why don't we keep it at that? Red means offline. Simple rule, right? If you need to see if a mod is online, simply go up to the goofans tab at the top of the page, and click "Goofans team". I wonder what sport they play?
InfernoFans | Chest full of porkchops
At least the little buttons could be on their profile page. Now we have to run through the tracker and find one of their forum posts.

Just look up their names in the Goofans search bar at the right of the page.

But that still just takes you to their profile. (here's mine)
If you wanted to see if I was online, you'd have to go there, hit TRACK, find a forum that I'd posted in, and look at that comment.

It can't be that hard JUST to see if a person is online, you know. Your explanation wasn't but one and a half lines long.
InfernoFans | Chest full of porkchops
It's not hard, just tiresome, for such a simple goal. And why shouldn't there be an Who's Online bar (if it isn't too hard to make)?

i would like to make a suggestion, when i bring up the levels to browse them, it would be nice to be able to sort them be date, either when added or when last modified would do, it has become a chore to scroll through all the pages to find the new levels, which is great, that means there are lots of levels
You are able to sort levels by downloads. Old level have mostly more downloads than new one.
But I think that it's good idea to sort levels by date of last modified.
Author of Platforms of Goo and 64 levels for World of Goo .
That's a good idea. The only reason such a thing doesn't exist is the lack of screen space for additional columns.

Here is another interesting suggestion for this site:
Link (or drop-down box) to go to other sections of the forums at the bottom of the page.
After submitting a post one has to scroll way back to the top (in the case of long threads) to navigate via the links at the top of the page or those on the side. If one were at the bottom also, it would make for convenient navigating for all.
(Just the opinion of a Noodlehead, nothing more!)
**sings** "Here I Goo again on my own. Gooing down the only road I've ever known."
Another suggestion.
It would be very nice to have acces to an unpublished mod/level when you are a co-author of it.
I also really like AldenteVonTino's idea.

Or to be able to edit a published level when you are co-author.
And to get the Addin Author badge for it.

maybe a button on the main author's page to give that person editing access?

I think you have the access to unpublished mod and you can edit it if you are co-author. The mod should be visible from your "My account" tab, on the right.
My Gooish profile | Videos on YouTube | My WOG Mods
Yes I can see an unpublished mod on my account page*, but when I click it I'm just getting to the acces denied page.
* The thing is I didn't knew about this mod before I was added as co-author. Who is the first author of it? (maybe it's Goosweek). Anyway this particular mod seems to have some issues and I would love to help fixing them.

Witch mod are you referring to? I can only see three mods and all are published.
