Actually, you don't need a Mac build; you have one already. You should be able to run it from the source.

That happens when the program doesn't have sufficient write-privileges. Try right-clicking->Run As Administrator when you open it.

Don't use it on your normal World of Goo directory. Copy it.

Just use crossover or wine! That's what i did. Plus, You also have to have the windows version of world of goo.
Because writing signatures is too mainstream
Sat, 03/31/2012 - 07:25
If you don't have the Windows version, you could use some sort of batch script with Wogfile and convert the Mac resources to Windows. Then copy all those resources on top of a Windows demo.

Note about stuck (stuck_attached and stuck_detaching) states:
They are available for every attachable Goo Ball, bacause all those balls can stick to sticky geometry object (material="verysticky" etc.). GooBLE shows ball in those states only when it's sticky. To Ball stuck to sticky wall can also be attached other Goo Balls if attribute stuckattachment is set to true.

TEACH ME MASTER! TEACH ME HOW TO RUN FROM SOURCE!
Edit:
Ok, got something wrong.
argv-emulation is not supported for 64-bit executables
Edit 2:
Ok, i don't know if i should have done this but i disabled the mysterious argv-emulation. Returned somewhat more text.
Edit 3:
Is this because Mountain Lion is only 64 bit? Because then there is no way i could run it ;(
Because writing signatures is too mainstream

It seems there is a module missed. Have you installed the py2app? (the compiler probably need it to compile the source) I wonder if there is a 64 bit py2app. If there is, install that version as well.

Latest doesn't mean the most suitable. I use Python 2.6 to compile WooGLE. You can try that version.

There should be instructions for compiling on mac somewhere around here, and I know there are other Mac users on the site.
For now you can just edit the balls by hand, that's the way I still do it. I find it easier to manage everything that way.

I could change common balls into a detaching/detached ball
Sat, 02/08/2014 - 15:54
sry for asking this but how do you replace a ball
Sun, 02/09/2014 - 15:40
Changing common Goo Balls is a good way to earn a "cheater" badge, since it is by definition cheating.
Editing the original Goo Balls is disabled I believe for this very reason.

ik but i am not using this account really much
Sat, 02/15/2014 - 13:27
I understand. I'm just letting you know why editing original Goo Balls isn't supported within the program.
If you REALLY want to change original Goo Balls (And aren't going to cheat by doing so), you can check out the info about game file formats here: http://goofans.com/developers/game-file-formats
The Goo Ball info is stored as compressed XML files, which you can decompress using the Advanced->Decrypt menu option in GooTool. After decrypting the XML files, you can edit them with a simple text editor and encrypt them again. The XML is fairly straightforward as far as XML goes, and all the field names are exactly as they appear in the editor.
My main question here would be: Why would you WANT to? Editing XML is tricky for the average computer user (And sometimes it's difficult for experienced programmers, as well). The upshot is that editing original Goo Balls is possible, but doing so is cheating, so the guy who made this editor made it as difficult as physically possible.
What I would personally recommend is cloning the original Goo Balls, and working off that copy. You can test them as you would any Goo Ball from within the editor, and even add them into your own levels quite easily if you so choose. However, unless you were born with the innate knack to bend all computers to your will, I would recommend not trying to edit the original Goo Balls. It's intentionally difficult to do so.

Would it be fine if you made a tutorial video of this? It seems confusing to me and would really help if you made a video to help me and other users who are stuck. Thanks!
