Hello all! Here I shall post any art I create that can be used in a Goo-Mod or if it is good enough to post up. Hopefully, quality and quantity will improve over time: I am still a beginner.

So here it is! To start off, a small, tiny plant that took quite a while to create:

I tried to make some assets of a brick wall with changeable parts, so you can stack them on the sides, on top of each other, or just finish off the top piece with a little dip of some sort. Oh, and wooden pillars.

A background, which has that blueish, crystal like tone. Its all clouds though:

Wide leafed plant with wild leaf cap. Featured on DeviantArt. Resolution is kept at 1200x800 for all the smoothness. Scale to your liking.

Create giant painted grass fields in minutes!

Instructions: When in use, scale it down. Default size is 507 (pretty big) so bring it down to like 40~ish. Then go to the brush settings (F5) and increase the spacing to around 80%~ish. I suggest (looks weird if you don't) you go to shape dynamics and increase the size jitter to 100%, Angle Jitter to around 5%. Then go to Scattering and increase the scatter to 125%~ish as well as the count to 4 or 5. Then go to color dynamics and change a couple settings to create different colored patches of grass seamlessly.

Transparency is conserved. Just save image and use(for assets)! Give credit!

(10/8/11) Giant tileset coming soon (Blue Cave) putting some finishing touches and will post later. Here it is in action: http://i51.tinypic.com/r1dgjo.png (background is from Braid)

It DOES look like something from Braid. Tongue

Great Howitz,
I'm always having trouble with finding images for my goomods. Looking forward to an image libary.

OMG, that looks like it's ripped straight from Braid. Yeah, I know you know, but I just can't help saying it.

Oh yeah, and what goomatz said.

Haha actually guys, I have some good news:

DRAWING TABLET YEAAAA very soon Smile just need to go to store and pick it up...

That plant took hours to mimic pen pressure. "But no longah!", as MOM4Evr says.

Great,
congrats.
I always wanted to know how it is to play World of Goo with a drawing tablet.

I have a tablet PC, and it makes whacking Goo Balls considerably easier for me. Quite fun. Too bad I got the lower-end computer for college; the higher-end ones have multitouch touchscreens. Still quite fun, though. Smile

Oh, and time for another Linux plug: There's a slight delay when tapping with the stylus when I'm running Windows, which makes the game really obnoxious. However, no delay with the Linux drivers. Wink

And I'll add my compliments to the list. Awesome-looking artwork there, Howitz. Good job. Smile

Alriiiiight! Looks good! Still reminds me of Braid. Tongue

Me too. This would be fantastic for a Braid universe. Maybe, once there's a good amount of images, I could start making my universe "reBraid".

Lol I like the painterly style they have in Braid.

That is very cool art. What will the game be called? How much will it cost to buy it?

This art is for goo-mods. I will let you guys know when I actually work on a game, because I am not skilled enough to create actually art for games yet.

Hah, you're better than me, and I've been making games for years.

I've been making games for a fair amount of time, but all my art is pixel-art. In other words, I draw the image pixel-by-pixel. Flash can create amazing images, but that isn't its primary function.

I need to either hire an artist or get someone to draw for a percentage of all profit.

Or do what I do and use Blender to create 3D models, and render them out to still images. Smile

Ooh, that's a good idea. I've read about doing that for digital artwork, but I never thought about it for games.

and I wonder why we don't all pitch in a little work to make a goofans game...lol.

Well, I guess time is of the essence, but still.

Meh. Blender just isn't my program. Tongue

And yes! It'd be cool if we could all build a game together! Smile Freeware, of course, as it'd be just for the experience.

That would be cool, only I'm wondering who would do what. Howitz could do the artwork, but everyone else would want to code... I could do story/design, I guess.

If everyone else is up for it, I suggest we make a thread to discuss it.

Yes, let's! Sounds like a great idea!

@Howitz: See if you can use the <img /> tag as you add more artwork at the top of the forum topic. We'll see if it stays at 'Full HTML' when you edit it too.

crap...it won't let me edit? the 'view/edit' tab things are gone.

Oh, stink. What did I do? Try it now.

Works now. If you make images visible, it doesn't let me edit.

quick question: why do people make a login here an say hi but they only post once? i understand people with game related questions would, but why do people like goo-cool and wahidthecool never post? they say they do, but...

@kirdneh: You know, that is REALLY off-topic. Could we please keep this discussion about Howitz's artwork? At least mostly about it?

ok. i am staying on topic by replying to your comment. i want to say lots of stuff, but i won't. even if it's funny.

@howitz: one of the game scenes is my desktop pic. it's that good. i never change it for years.
