Darn. I saw that, but forgot to delete it. I always like to check the rest of the forums before I delete spam, so that if there's any more I can do it in a big ban rush. Stoopid me.
But in the future, please try not to post in a thread made by spam. It makes it more tedious to ban, because we have to delete all comments in the thread before the thread (and thus the user) can be removed.
Yeah, sorry. I try not to do it too much or else people will start saying that it's unfair. It kind of is unfair, but if anybody could do it then some people would post images that are too large and could deform the page.
OK, fine, so it doesn't deform. But it does look pretty ugly, and if you have a massive height then it could be really annoying.
My point is that DavidC has a valid reason for not allowing regular users to use the tag. That's not to say I wouldn't mind it being allowed: any inappropriate/annoying images could be removed by mods, and once/if we get edit (and thus temp ban) access we could enforce related rules.
I can unban someone (by unblocking their IP addresses), but there's no way to restore their user profile or any posts that were deleted. Hence the giant warning.
I was going to put a BBCode filter in the forums so you can do [img]http://blah[/img] and so forth. I could still do this if it would be helpful.

BBCode for that and other things would be handy, as long as images have size restrictions. However, as Red mentioned above, offensive/explicit images could become a problem.

You can still remove his post though Deleted it just now.

I was going to be worried that new users would spam images from memes or explicit subjects. Maybe making it so that only established users can post images would work? We should try it out. Most of the people posting in the forums are, for the most part, trustworthy.
We wish. There's not much we CAN do, actually.

Correction, the Admin (David) can do anything. The mods can do almost anything.

@MOM: If it does work that way, then that's cool. But then again, megabanning gives you a million warnings, so maybe it isn't possible.
Hopefully David will give us an answer.

I still think he was spam.

Maybe. We'll wait to see if AP gets a reply.

None yet, but the email didn't bounce.
Another Planet finally has an official release! Download chapters 1 through 3 here! Thank you for waiting so long while I kept starting over.
Hmm. Could be that his email got hijacked and used by spam, but that still doesn't really explain why it was here. It didn't advertise anything.

Wait, can they deform the page? Let me test this.
(If nothing appears below, it's the standard 256 test pattern)

I vote no. Some users may post porn or other offensive material.

@Red: That's what I meant, we can remove those images. But I guess you guys are right.

You're right about it being ugly. Removed.

^good idea.
Anyway, just banned 3 spam users. One of them even quoted a post and said "I agree with this"!
