Chapters 1 through 3 are now released as a total conversion! The original levels are available through a modified version of WorldSpin used on island1.
Since this is an ENORMOUS file I'm not able to upload it here. Here's a Dropbox link for now. Sorry about this, I'll get it up as soon as possible.

If you find the electrical particle effects overwhelming, install the "electone" addin from the Archived section as well. That'll reduce the intensity a bit.
Note: this is NOT an official expansion and is not connected to the proposed "World of Goo 2."

Yep, it shouldn't work with my "Intelligent Islands". (the geometry in "Intelligent Islands" wouldn't fit AP's artwork, anyway!)
I'm not sure what would be the "best" way to solve this problem, but for now, either put Intelligent Islands below this mod in GooTool, or don't use them together.

Intelligent Islands shouldn't be affected at all! Doesn't it just edit res/levels/island2? It would have to edit res/levels/island1X to affect this mod! If you want I'll make this island intelligent, I have some ideas...

He has to make it smaller to upload it to goofans. Goofans only supports mods up to 20 MB.

Looks like you're right about it being the 1st level (not any level) in the island which controls access to the chapter.
FYI:
If you move the line
<xsl:apply-templates />in island2.xml.xsl... so it comes after the info for your levels...Then your levels will get added BEFORE the original levels, so ZeroG becomes the first level in the island, and the chapter is always available. ie. fixes the problem with the AP Demo and new profiles.
{Edit}: found another bug / weakness in the game that could cause AP Demo to crash.
If the player / profile is half way through Ch2.. so some levels completed, but not all...
The game will crash when you enter Ch2.
It looks to be when it tries to add the red "Play this level next" arrow.
If it finds a level in the island.xml which is available, but unplayed... it looks for a button id= lb_{levelname} in the map level, so it can get the position to place the red arrow.
If there isn't a button with that id ... crash!

I had an idea for a GooTool-like application that would fix all these problems and make chapter addins easier...It would have a few different WoG folders and different profiles for each. When you choose one from a drop-down, it renames a few files and poof! You have another copy of WoG with a clean profile!

Not really sure what you're thinking there, but sounds like it would add an extra level of complication.
The solution to (all?) these profile problems appears to be....
If you're making a complete "Chapter Override" mod, like this.
Don't tiptoe about doing a merge for the island.xml.
Create a completely new file, which includes just the levels used in your new chapter, and add it to the goomod as a "compile" so it just overwrites the original.

What I was thinking would be like that, but it would add a 'clean' profile as well if you were playing a full sequel. Based on the current GooTool backup system.

Volcanic Bridge involves making a bridge of BlockBurneds and RectBurneds (invulnerable) to cross a pit of lava.
More coming soon! I'm making a version that uses Island1 AND Island2, so the chapters correspond. It will use a compile so GooTool can still install levels, so it will have to be the LOWEST addin on the list.

The Chapter 1 button is a glitch. Go to Chapter 2 to play the real levels.

Specifically, what crashes on yours? On mine it might be because of incompatibility with other addins. If it always crashes after the "iodizing...bending the spoon...placating publishers..." screen, it's probably MapWorldView, the Distant ball, or one of the island.xml.bins. If it crashes when you click the button for an island, it's probably that map level. If it crashes on a level button, there's probably a file or ball missing.

You know how if you play your Another Plnaet with a new profile and it doesn;t work?
well Ive made my WoG2 work ^_^
its all in the island.xml.bin, in there is all the old level NAMES as well as your level names
delete the old ones and there ^_^ there you have it, it now works

The problem is simple I think, the filename "island2X.xsl" forgot to put the .xml line, so it would be "island2X.xml.xsl"
I don't know if it works, or some other problems with your new chapter addin.

It says something went wrong with the XML's for island2x. They seems to parse fine in DreamWeaverCS3...

Hmm,
when you start custom World of Goo anyway you can play the levels.
They are working fine but the level name, level text and signposttext are not shown.
Maybe it´s something with the text.xml

Anyways, How does it work for you, and not us? Do you have something that wasn't included in the goomod? If you have another computer somewhere, you can try to install World of goo on there, and your mod. Then you can see what we are seeing.
(I hope a mod or someone can come here and help us!)
