The Game Maker created
World of Goo Themed Platform Game
The main charracter is a black Goo Ball that can run, jump, stick to vertical wall and climb on it. Enemies are other kinds of Goo Balls (Pokeys, Balloons, Bones, Bits, Bombs, Evil Eyes), dangerous spikes and gears. The goal is to feed Fisty the frog with a Goo-Drink from red can. You start from the Frog and must return at the start point after you got a can. Five available powerups can be helpful.

Platforms of Goo Level Editor (PoGLE) - version 1.02

Platforms of Goo Profile viewer - version 0.2
Simple tool allowing to view time records from your PoG profile (PoG Tool ).
*WARNING! In level Towers from chapter 5, cracked bridge between towers is not definitely destroyed by the explosion (since the machanism of explosion was updated). It makes the level a bit harder.
On October 31st I've published the source .gmk file of the game (last modified 07/08/2014).
This is the end of Platforms of Goo development. I have lost access to full version of Game Maker (I don't want to buy GM:S ) and also the interest in PoG is lower and lower. It was really nice to feel almost like a real game designer

I know that this wasn't intended but.... THE LEVEL FOLDER IS GONE!!!! THE GAME CAN'T RUN SO IT CLOSES ITSELF!!!!!! So you forgot the level folder making all of our new levels useless. And it makes the game unplayable. SO FIX IT NOW!!!!

There will be possibility of adding tiles (small images changing look of spikes, walls and backgound).
So I'm very interested in AP's proposition about tile-sets for PoG. I have only one, based on old PoG graphics. The tile set based on WoG graphics will be cool!
Game (will) use sets of 32x32 tiles, 4 cells per row, 1-7 cells high (beause of coding based on A-Z letters). Of corse every level could use different set of tiles.

I have problem... When I run this I get this error message:
...And the game doesen't start.
I use Windows 7 and it worked until Verion 14. I couldn't see the tiles anyway. Verion 1 works best.

Game can't open Default.ord.txt file... Probably there is a bit different way of searching files or "?". I'm trying to do "something" with this features in version 1.03, but there is only a probablility of success.

If it's PooGLE created and in Program Files, it gets hidden in Users\name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore somewhere. Something about needing admin access.

I changed the mechanism of solving names of searched ord.text files. Is that the answer to your problems with openning and reading? If not... probbably I can't help...

I told that PoG was written with GM in one of previous posts. (Yes. Written. It mostly uses pieces of GML code, with some comments in different languages [sometimes it's Polish, sometimes it's English])
I don't want to publish source at GooFans, before I finnish the game.
But I can send it on your e-mail.
PS. In archived downloads there is engine.gmk file, that contains old engine of Goo Ball's motion (without material-friction checking).

Version 1.04 on the way. I have fixed bug with running levels using PooGLE, but it's realy small change.
I don't want to release new version after every small thing I do.
Have you any idea about new features. Maybe you want a bit different "main menu", or something other?
Remember that any advenced physics is impossible to do for me. Forget about strands, rotating geometries and water. I can add a stones, that can fall down when there's nothing under them, and maybe can kill you falling on your "head", but it's planned after version 1.04

How about the gameplay, adding one more bonus, which is the Water Bonus. It makes the gooball invisible and monsters can't be seen by that gooball (even skulls and evil eyes), but still it can be killed by spikes and gears. If it get twice, back to visible. Just an idea!
About the different menu, I like this kind of menu, but I was confused on which button should I press.
EDIT: Getting the Water Bonus must be a sound of selecting a water goo like in the World of Goo. When does the Water Goo appears on PoG Editor? It says only by using coding.

Nice! I like how you can change friction... although I don't quite understand what this "coding" thing is. If it involves manually changing the [levelname].PoG.txt file, then I probably wouldn't be able to do it, unless every wall object has a [location]=[friction#]. If that is the case right now, I would like PooGLE to have the ability to let you change the friction.
Another recommendation is to be able to change gravity. I know that the "gravity" thing is a bit... well... hard-coded into the player itself. But if it really does eventually get an entire "forces" system, that would be cool.
And yet another thing: scrolling! Scrolling levels are one of the most common things found in platformers. A platformer without scrolling levels seems... wrong. Just a little. It's still GOOd right now, but it would be better with that.
The Water powerup is cool, even though I still haven't been able to use it yet.
A weird glitch is when you get the bomb powerup and you try to blast a "large" chunk of breakable rock, and then if there was a block that didn't quite explode but was just outside the radius, it falls. I don't know why. I'm not even sure of when it even falls because of all the other exploding stones. And it should have exploded, seeing where it was positioned, so I don't even think that this is even a good definition of the bug itself.
Ummm, could you make certain blocks move of their own accord (like the falling blocks) that moved back and forth? Or up and down? Or even at least the ability to chain falling blocks together? And as for the moving blocks, can I set the path in PooGLE? All of that would be really cool.
Teleporters. Yes, I mean it. You touch the block, you pop out the other one. Multiples should be able to be chained to each other so that, like, you have 2 sets of portals, and you want to be able to set where they go, instead of having it random.
Bonuses. No, not the powerups. Like, oh, say, points. Like an OCD thing for this game.
Saved Progress. You complete a level and want to save where you are for later. "OCD" things or achievements that you have earned are saved also, and "high scores".
Sorry for the long list, but the game is still awesome. This stuff is just.. well... a recommendation list. I'm not sure if any of this is even possible yet.
EDIT: I just came up with this: On the main menu, you have to press Spacebar, Alt and other keys to do stuff. How about <- and -> switch packs and arrow buttons that you click do that as well. A "START" button or pressing Enter would make more sense than pressing the spacebar. On the "PAUSE" menu I would like it if it was triggered with "P" instead of Escape. Also on the "PAUSE" menu I would like buttons to select instead of key-presses. So instead of "Press Q/R/E" it would be "Quit Exit Reset".

You can change gravity with coding. There's variable called global_gravity, ant it describes vertical gravity (described in my poor modding guide). Different gravity directions need rewriting all player's motion and it's mayby not as important to do this work.
I will try to make scrooling (Game Maker supports it. There's not as much work), and possibility of differnt level size.
Teleporters... It will be hard. Teleporters will need special coding in .Pog.txt. They won't appear so fast.
Moving platforms are harder than teleporters... I don't want to create them.
Saving progress... No score-bonuses! There can be only time scores: least time = best achievement. It will be a lot of work to make profiles. Profile data should be a bit hidden and much safe. Maybe I will make only one "profile"...
Friction. There will be possibility of different friction on every edge of wall. Maybe it should be availabe without advenced coding.

PS: I forgot about "bug" with falling block. It's an Easter Egg. There are not only normal cracked walls. There is one falling unstable block. In this level, falling blocks got same image as cracked walls

Profiles for PoG are comming.
In latest version (not published yet) there is one profile containing fastest times for played levels. It looks like:
This is profile file after I played basic PRE-DEMO of PoG.
When you enter a level to play, the fastest time is shown under the subtitle. I want to add some effect at the end of level, connected with breaking records, before I release next verion.

Yep, this is an insanely hard game. I personally can barely beat any of the levels at all. But you have the editor here, too, so you can make the levels as easy as you want.

No, no, no, I've got it. I can finish most of the levels but some of the levels are impossible! like the level where was these 4 evil eyes it's impossible to trick them! Goosweek, you need to think about some levels in this game...
And how can I add other items in PoOGLE not just tiles, music and background?
And some of you know the ogg. right? I typed that in and until got to the download page. I downloaded it and then extracted it... How can I open musics with ogg. ?

Yes, level with 4 evil eyes is realy hard... I will make it easier.
Platforms of Goo are still not finnished (but it's maybe close to the end), and we shouldn't talking about the sequel before the real first version. Actually I'm not thinking about making sequels to PoG when I finnish it. Probably I will add some new level sets after all...
To add objects in PooGLE (monsters, Fisty, RedCan, walls etc.) use NORMAL MODE (default). With letter keys you can swith between different items, and with mouse you can add them to the level - like tiles in GRAPHICS MODE. Use F1 to view simple help and click at the top green bar to view more options.
I tried to add island-view (menu to select a level to play), but I only destroyed loading system a bit (no worry, project still can go on). Next release planned at the end of September.
Have you any special ideas or "dreams" about the game?
My possibilities are limited, but if you think there's something annoying in game, it's better tell me.

Hey, it was about 1 year ago, when I was really active in this Forum, and I saw your Game - made with Game maker... It sounded intresting to me! I started to download Game maker and started to make games... Later i bought the full version of Game maker and made better games - i really liked it, but I tought: "This isn't really Programming - you cant do everything you want!" So I started learning Java, and now wow, thank you

One year older than me... hmm... If you are in John Henry Newman Catholic Collage you probably would know me I wont tell my real name so call me just Wiki or Wiki-goo (Wikigoo-4evr sounds weird). If you would like to make 3D games google in 3D game editor and then... I don't remember... Need to have a look... Oh well... Hey if anybody knows about my school levels or World of goo - diamond catchers or Wiki-world they wont come soon... I'm too lazy to work on so big things... It looks easy but it takes time - testing, checkout,... But once I will need to work on it cause they have to be finished... You know what, matheus23 I donnow how to work on the game maker... Can you learn me... Well when I will need you help of course...
Goosweek, you really need to change your game... In blues in the level Eyes of evilness is OK, it is possible but in reds... you need to delete one or two eyes! Because platforms are not really help you - they are getting in your way ... Other levels are OK! Thanks for been made this!!! And if you agree... I would like to put in goofans one of levels I will make! I called it - "Ghost mansion" (I don't believe in ghosts)

And Goosweek how can I change cracked wall's and falling walls images? In instructions there isn't said anything like that! Either how can I get blue can and blue enemies?

Changing images for common objects (monsters, falling walls etc.) is not possible with PooGLE. You should find .res.txt file created with PooGLE, and add special RESORCE DEFINITION lines at the end. Details are described in PoG Modding Guide.
You can carefuly check the "Blue Themed Version".
P.S. Final release soon. There will be "island" menu (for choosing level in level- set)!

I have other ideas that I want to make a better PoG level:
1. Bit Bonus - so you can fly around, getting the item again or a balloon bonus reverts back to the normal gravity.
2. Balloon Bonus - anti-gravity is the key to prevent other monsters from chasing you. When got Bit bonus, or another balloon bonus again. back to normal gravity.
And one bug that I saw mainly on Platforms of Goo:
The in-game time keeps on stacking when you fail.

It's not a bug. In-game time is total time of play starting from entering the level and ending on completion. The idea was, you shouldn't die, if you want to got good time record.
Balloon bonus may reverse the gravity. OK...
What does the Bit bonus? It turns off the gravity? I can't understand.
Balloon bonus is maybe a good idea (it's easy to do, because of current motion engine).

Bit Bonus has the ability to fly upwards, downwards, left, right, or any direction. Yes it turn off the gravity. Getting this Bonus again back to the normal gravity, even getting a Balloon Bonus.
