Loch Ness: As you said, probably was/is some form of dinosaur. Interestingly enough, there's a story about Saint Patrick when he went to Scotland seeing Loch Ness. Some stories surrounding the monster are probably fictitious, but that one was interesting.

You see... It is some kind of dinosaur and as on some dinosaur movies... I have seen a dinosaurs like turtles, without back shell and with long neck.

Yeah, that would be a plesiosaur/icthyosaur. Pretty much the same as a dinosaur but they swim.

OOH AND DOCTOR WHO! Excellent series. I've heard good things about Sarah Jane Adventures, too.

Why? Because your debate is based on beliefs...Things that are not proved!
Even the science could be wrong ... who knows?
Discussing about this is just terrible. Making that the other person believe what you want in a discrimination rule!
Then you are in a intellectual race of who writes more intelligent things that approves their beliefs.
You are doing it wrong.
Racism and classism is not the answer guys.

This is just a discussion where everyone is free to enter and discuss as the please. Nobody's trying to prove anything, they're just saying their opinions.

his opinion is not to opinionate, wich actually is an opinion, while red's opinion is to opinionate, which also is an opinion, but red is right as google just opinionated himself.
of course, that is my opinon.

I'd definitely go with aliens! They exist for sure, its HIGHLY unlikely that they don't out of billions of galaxies, billions of stars, billions of planets... The fact that we might ever meet them is another story. Though for the intelligence thing... why not? That is just us humans thinking "we are the most epic spiecies in the universe" but its quite likely other spiecies out there, on older planets, had time to develop for very long, including their intelligence. That could make them very intelligent, which COULD, in theory, allow them to reach us somehow.

do you know haw we observe bugs and bacteria under microscopes and they are too dumb to notice us? maybe there are aliens who think we are the specimens and they are the intelligent life form they get diseases from. zoom out a bit, and more aliens are observing them...

kinda reminds me of when in men in black a bunch of lockers had tiny worlds in them and they opened a big door and looked out and saw their whole world was in a enormous locker.

I never saw MIB but that concept is interesting, although illogical. It is is NOT illogical for life to exist elsewhere but it is illogical for them to have higher intelligence than us, not quite impossible, but the way our intelligence currently exists, we have the fastest response mechanisms.

The only aliens are people going to a place they don't know.

@RedTheGreen That's what you think, because you are human, so it is impossible for you to concieve a more intelligent life form. Take it this way, look at how much we have evolved in about 10 thousand years, but at the scale of the universe, 10 thousand years is nothing, Just imagine if another spiecies out there evolved that much longer than us, imagine...

Seeing some of the messages we sent out (for example, a gold disk with two circles representing hydrogen atoms on it, the information is stored on the other side in a binary code based on the decay rate of tritium, implied by the picture) we're assuming they're VERY intelligent. They showed the disk to some mathematicians and scientists and they couldn't understand it. Smile

You misunderstood. I wasn't giving a personal opinion. Tongue With the way Earth mammals think, our current process of understanding is the highest intelligence we could ever achieve (with that process of thinking all mammals use). That has been scientifically-proven. If, however, aliens evolved with a different form of information-processing, it could potentially give them a higher level of intelligence.

Really? That's awesome. I've never heard that before. Where'd you hear that?

Never heard of it! And thats what evolution is for...(unless you're a creationist)

Whoa, really? That's amazing!

Of course, even if our "software" is perfect, our "hardware" isn't. I mean, if we're going to rely primarily on vision, we should have more than three color channels.

Then the question is how much color matters. A lot of animals can't even see color. Wink

True. But we rely on color and vision WAY more than most other animals. Those that do, like owls, have something like 7 channels of color extending into the infrared and ultraviolet.

I have not seen that movie, but it sounds evil. Smile

Regarding vision and colors, I think our current sensory receptors are great at information-gathering. After all, our intelligence makes up for all that we don't have physically. Remember Prometheus? He supposedly stole fire for humans as we had nothing physically-threatening to help us survive. With fire, we had the upper hand on the clawing, gnawing animals. Now we have furnaces to survive in cold climates, power plants that harness the force of rising steam, and all the shrimp in the world. Basically, our intelligence makes up for everything. Instead of relying on our natural fingernails to slash at beasts, we craft swords and tools, as only a smart man can.
